Augusta's 5th Annual Harvest FestivalA CELEBRATION THAT KICK'S OFF THE HARVEST SEASONFriday, Saturday & Sunday September 17, 18 & 19 
On Friday:The Harvest Festival kicks off with the Swingin’ In The Vines Concert & Picnic in the Vineyard beginning at 5:30pm. Guests will meet at the American Legion and board a pumpkin wagon for a short ride down a country lane to the Hoeft Vineyards for the festivities. Port from Augusta and Montelle Wineries will be sampled in a 130 year old vaulted cellar on the property. Gourmet picnic baskets containing a variety of cheeses, sausages, fruit, spreads, vegetables and dip, bread, jam and wine will be awaiting guests. Pick up your basket, settle down to your picnic and enjoy the music of Michael Lacey and his New Orleans Swing Band. On Saturday:The harvest celebration continues with a Festival in the Park and a Meet the Wine Maker Social. The Festival in the Park from 12 to 4pm will include a wine tasting presented by the area’s wineries, BBQ prepared by the Augusta Volunteer Fire Department, and the ever popular Pie Baking Contest. Tickets for the Wine Tasting will be available for purchase.A highlight of the afternoon is the Pie Contest and Pie Walk. The reputation of our local bakers is unsurpassed. Pick up the rules and pie plates from one of the local businesses and enter your favorite pie. Pies will be judged and awards given. Visitors are urged to save room for desert after sampling some wine and food. Those wanting a whole pie will be able to participate in an old-fashioned Pie Walk, or the more calorie conscious may just buy a slice. The Meet the Winemaker's Social beginning at 6pm is an opportunity to meet the wine makers or owners of several area wineries. You will learn about their award-winning wines and their choices for the pairing of wine with hors d’oeuvre. Reservations are required for this event.
